We discuss topics such as: Best practices/cost saving advice to ensure the sustainability of the plan for future years, online Services such as employee member sites summary of benefits, so everyone has a clear understanding of their coverage.

Since MMGC's inception Mark has been providing benefit and pension solutions to Atlantic Canadian companies. He immigrated from Edinburgh, Scotland, where he obtained an honors degree in Financial Services. His internship consisted of experience with Scottish Equitable and Standard Life.

Mark is a trained employee benefit specialist; he participates in advisory councils with major insurance carriers and his goal is to provide objective advice and provide sustainable added value to his clients. Mark resides in Truro with his wife Meghan and their two boys, Rory and Finley.
Patty McDonald
Benefits Consultant

Patty joins MMGCL with 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining MMGCL in the fall of 2013, she spent 5 years with a major national insurance company and the 15 years with a regional independent benefits consulting firm.

As a trained Employee Benefits Consultant, Patty provides her clients with a comprehensive approach to benefits management. With an emphasis on client service, she is dedicated to adding value to her clients by establishing long-lasting relationships and providing a high level of service and independent professional advice.

Patty plays an active role in her community, in particular with Big Brothers and Sisters.
Sharon Hogg
Benefits Consultant

Sharon became the owner/president of Benefits Experts on May 1, 2005. Previously, she enjoyed a 24-year career at Maritime Life Assurance in Halifax, in accounting, pension, individual underwriting and group underwriting areas, exiting the company as Senior Group Underwriter for the Atlantic Provinces.

Sharon has many years of experience in the group benefits arena and puts that experience to good use for all of her valued clients. A native of Halifax, she now lives in Wellington, Nova Scotia with her husband Stewart.

Angela has been with our parent company, MacLellan & Moffatt Financial for more than 15 years. Being both life and mutual fund licensed, Angela has provided a high level of support to the investment and insurance arm of MMFI as well as her recent role as Office Manager.

Her transition into the Group consulting side of the business occurred in 2012 when she began assisting with client reporting, renewal preparation, new contracting and with general group related inquiries. Her experience dedication and work ethic bring a high level of service to MMGC.

Christine was appointed Sales & Service Coordinator at Benefits Experts in August 2010. She brings with her over 30 years of Client Service related experience with the past 6 years based in the insurance industry. Christine comes to us with both sales and service experience which will enable her to assist you, our clients, with all of your benefit needs.

A native of Nova Scotia, Christine lives in Dartmouth with her husband Mark. She is very family oriented and feels extremely fortunate to have her two children and grandchildren living nearby.

We offer traditional employee benefit packages for companies large and small. There can be several components that make up an employee benefit plan. We obtain quotes from various group insurance providers and through communication with our clients make the appropriate recommendations.
