Group Health & Dental Plans

At MMGC we believe that a creative plan design can set you apart from the crowd and assist in attracting and retaining valuable employees. Labor shortage trends over the last few years have contributed in making group insurance one of the most important components in a company's total compensation package.

Employee Benefit Packages

We offer traditional employee benefit packages for companies large and small. There are several components that make up an employee benefit plan. Our Benefit Consultants tailor make a plan to suit the individual needs of your company and its employee's.
  • Life Insurance
  • Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • Dependant Life Insurance
  • Extended Health Care
  • Dental Care
  • Short Term Disability
  • Long Term Disability

Life Insurance - Benefit provides basic financial protection to a plan member's beneficiary in the event of their passing. The plan provides life coverage in multiples of the member's salary, or as a flat amount.

Dependant Life Insurance - Benefit provides a flat amount to assist in providing financial protection for a plan member in the event of a spouse or child's death.

Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) - Benefit will generally match the life benefit and will provide an additional benefit if a plan member dies, loses the use of a limb, is paralyzed or loses hearing, speech or sight as a result of an accident.

Short Term Disability (STD) - Benefit provides replacement of lost income if a plan member is temporarily unable to work because of total disability. A plan will cover injuries and illnesses not related to work until the time when a member is able to return to work, or until Long Term Disability Benefits start. STD may also provide coverage for rehabilitation to ensure members fully recover and return to a productive and self-sufficient lifestyle.

Long Term Disability (LTD) - Benefit will provide financial assistance if a plan member cannot work for an extended period of time because of total disability. It supplements disability benefits available from government programs. LTD may also provide coverage for rehabilitation to ensure members fully recover and return to a productive and self-sufficient lifestyle.

Extended Health Care - Benefit helps plan members and their dependants pay for necessary medical expenses that are not covered by their provincial plans. You can choose annual deductible amounts that members pay as well as reimbursement levels.

Benefits include but are not limited to:

  • Drugs
  • Hospital
  • Paramedical
  • Vision
  • Medical Services & Equipment
  • Out of Province Emergency

Dental Care - Benefit provides financial assistance to plan members and their dependants to help pay for necessary dental expenses that are not covered by their provincial plans. There are numerous options to choose from to help create the right balance between cost and benefits for your particular group.

Additional add-on benefits may also include:

Health Care Spending Account - These accounts are designed to allow plan sponsors to supplement the products and services their group benefit plan covers.

Employee Assistance Program - This program helps to provide the advice and support employees need as it relates to their individual medical circumstances. Plans can include counseling, information & resources, referrals among other things.

Group Critical Illness Insurance - Generally a lump sum benefit to help employees protect themselves and their families if they should face a serious illness.

Things to consider:

In the year 2001, all forms of employee benefits accounted for over 40% of gross annual payroll costs. Value for your benefit dollar is more than just good rates more importantly it is obtaining recognition and value from your staff.
In the last few years low unemployment has been the catalyst in creating competition for companies to attract and retain quality employees. An effective and efficient benefit package can help define a well-run business.
With health care costs rising and provincial budgets being cut, health care plans are required to "fill the gap".
